Elephant

Elephant are hunted by tracking. Once suitable spoor is found, the hunting party will take up the track and follow the intended animal until he is seen and is evaluated as a trophy. This can make for exciting hunting and really takes the client back to the old days of elephant hunting. Working in close to an elephant herd will genuinely give our clients a book full of memories for the future. In general, Zimbabwe elephant have shorter thicker tusks than those available in East Africa.
The average weight for sport-hunted ivory in our concessions will be about 40-50 lbs. per side. Every year, elephant bulls with tusks weighing over 70 lbs. are taken, but the client has to have some luck on his side to find a bull of that quality.
